The Art of the Nativity (December 8, 15, and 22nd) with Dr. Charles HowardMaesta3

After our Advent Wreath making party on December 1st (for all ages!), our Adult Christian Education will be a very special series.  We will be studying the Art of the Nativity.

Many of the world’s greatest masterpieces are derived from the story of the Gospels and the incredible reality of the God made man.  Each work, rich in symbolism and full of the mastery of the craft, has a story to tell.

Helping us learn those stories, we will welcome to San Jose, Dr. Charles Howard.  Dr. Howard is a new instructor at the Episcopal School of Jacksonville, where he has joined both the arts and the history faculties.

Dr. Howard earned his undergraduate degree from Williams College and his Masters and PhD. from NYU.  He is helping Episcopal towards an AP program in Art History, which ESJ has not had before.

Fr. Britt and Dr. Howard will guide us all to a deeper understanding of the Nativity that will better prepare us for Christmas.

Everyone is encouraged to attend, and particularly our ESJ students, parents, and alumni parents.  This series is a concrete example of our continued partnership with ESJ and our mutual commitment to Episcopal Education as colleagues and friends.
