San Jose Episcopal Church enjoys the dedicated services of clergy, staff members, and volunteers who help fulfill our mission. They include:

 

 


Father Steph Britt - Rector

Steph Britt graduated with a Master of Divinity from the School of Theology at Sewanee in 1996.  He also has a Masters in British Literature earned at the University of South Carolina.  Steph grew up in Naples, Florida. He is married to Carol Jarvis Britt and they have one daughter, Katherine. Steph has previously served Episcopal churches in Tampa, Florida, and Augusta, Georgia.   

 

 

 

 Staff

Susan Beaudin  -  Administrator

Susan has been at San Jose, both church and school, for over 20 years.  For the past seven years she has been our Parish Administrator.  She is married to Matt.  She has a son, two daughters, three grandchildren, and two dogs.  She is a gifted artist and likes to quilt and applique.    


Katie Bennett - Communications

Katie teaches our very own 'Kingdom Theatre" program for the Day School, teaching Religious Education through Drama. Also working for the Church, she has recently enjoyed working with the team in creating and developing the SJEC Website.  As communications coordinator for SJEC, Katie has developed our weekly (Wednesday) email update, and our facebook page. Katie is married to Scott and they have a son Ben (SJEDS 05) who is studying Agronomy in college. You will see Katie around at church and enjoying many of our events both as a parishioner and church staff. She mostly works from home for the church so don't hesitate to email churchoffice@sanjoseepiscopal.com if you need something communicated.   

 

Sue Dirghalli - Office & Publications

Sue came to San Jose in 2004. Sue puts together all of our bulletins and printed materials, and everything that isn't someone else's job is her's too!  Sue is married to Michael. They have three boys and a Golden Retriever.  Two of Sue's sons are already Eagle Scouts and the third is nearly finished with that supreme accomplishment as well.   

 

William (Bill) D. Peters M.M. - Organist/ Director of the Choir

Bill Peters has had a lifelong interest in music and organs.Bill headshot

Organist and the Choir Director at San Jose Episcopal Church, most recently his music ministry takes him into Community Hospice where he regularly plays to share Gods love to those in the Hospice community. He is overheard saying, “This weekly mission is the most rewarding of all”. Bill graduated with Master of Music degree in organ performance from Wilkes University and at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He completed additional study with his mentor and teacher Dr. George Markey, in organ and counterpoint at the Guilmant Organ School in New York. Bill has celebrated sixty plus years as a church musician. He has presented recitals in Indiana, Pennsylvania and in New York City at St. Thomas’ Church, Fifth Avenue, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Grace Episcopal Church in Lower Manhattan. Bill and his late wife Betsy spent lots of their spare time traveling around the United States and Bills love of travel continues around the world where he has enjoyed playing organs in many European Churches and Cathedrals. As regional representative for the Allen Organ Company Bill has presented many dedicatory recitals across Florida and Georgia. His many ministries in music are a gift especially his San Jose choir. Singers and accompanists from all different levels of music who enjoy his teachings each week as they sing together in Gods glory to the congregation at San Jose.

Courtney McCormick - Newcomers Minister

Courtney was born and raised in Lancaster, New Hampshire. She attended Clemson University and majored in Elementary Education. There, she met husband Brooks, of Jacksonville. She taught Pre-K 4 at SJEDS until the birth of daughter Charlotte in 2014. Charlotte and Courtney both attend church staff meetings and look forward to welcoming newcomers to our church!




Emily Lewis - Director of Youth & Children's Ministries

Emily Lewis grew up in Ponte Vedra Beach.  She attended Episcopal High School and was very active in the youth group of Christ Episcopal Church.  Emily graduated from the University of North Florida with a degree in Sport Management, working as a Youth Ministry Assistant throughout her college career.   She went on to intern in Community Relations with the Kansas City Chiefs.  As her internship drew to a close she knew it was time to pursue her passion for Youth Ministry again.  Emily served as an intern at San Jose until the opportunity of Director presented itself.  She is excited to help youth discover their faith and potential in the church!
