| Special Invitations for Ministry |
| Share Your Comfort in God With Someone in Need. Be a Stephen Minister. What’s it like to be a Stephen Minister and to offer those in need of care the same comfort you receive from God? Read what Burt Mendel, one of our own Stephen Ministers, has to say. “As a Stephen Minister you become sort of a flow-through tea bag, allowing the love of God to flow through you into the life of the person in your care. It is a process. But it is not a passive process because just as with a tea bag you impart a particular flavor to the process. But any change which may occur in your care receiver is not of your own doing. “The result of the ministry of a Stephen Minister is really God’s doing. What a Stephen Minister does is ‘comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.’” (2 Cor 1:4) Anyone for tea? Talk with Burt or one of our other Stephen Ministers at San Jose: Marcia Lamkin, Gillian Pearce, Buck Pittman, Betty Dubovsky or Susannah Sands. Then talk with Fr. Steph Britt (733-1811) or one of our Stephen Leaders, Mike Dubovsky (635-2740) or Jerry Hanks (739-1510). We invite you to “join us for tea” in our Stephen Ministry. |
